Museum space within an 18th-century rum estate and construction of warehouses

The Clément estate continues to develop around its principal activity, the production and ageing of rum. After the construction of the new warehouses, the Maison dans les Arbres (Tree House) is meant to serve as a reception and meeting space as well as a centre for conservation and processing of the archives of the Habitation Clément. A large roof, made from a section of a cylinder and suspended from a single beam covered in polycarbonate, seems to float in the forested space like a leaf. It lets in the light and blends into the extraordinary vegetal universe of the site. A visitor path with museographical information points will serve as a guide to visitors to the estate.
